-Not Enough Heat
The furnace is running, but the room temperature is still cold.
Check to be sure that your thermostat is set at a comfortable temperature. If the thermostat is working and set properly, you may have clogged filters (which are preventing adequate air circulation). The other problem could be in your gas burners.
- Filters are clogged
Replace the old air filter(s) with new one(s).
- Burners are not putting out enough heat.
Check to be sure your gas supply valve is all the way open. If that does not solve the problem, call a furnace technician to adjust your burners.
Caution:
Gas burners must be properly adjusted or you could cause a build-up of carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide gas in your house. Either of these gasses can cause death. Let a qualified furnace technician adjust your burners for safety, maximum heat and efficiency. If you do not have a carbon monoxide gas detector in your home, you should purchase and install one right away.
